From March 11 to 13, Samuel Dalisot Cavale, Minister of Agriculture of Malawi, and his delegation visited Chenzhou City. Wu Jupei, Party secretary of Chenzhou, met with them and held talks.
At the meeting, Wu Jupei welcomed the Malawian delegation to visit Chenzhou and made a brief introduction of Chenzhou. Wu Jupei said, at present, Chenzhou laid a sound foundation for deepening the economic and trade cooperation between Chenzhou and Africa through moving faster to build itself into a “world tourist destination”, “national innovation demonstration zone” and “key growth pole of Hunan”, opening “Hunan-Guangdong-Africa” rail-sea intermodal train in Chenzhou International Land Port. Chenzhou will continue to promote opening up to the outside world with wider fields, higher level and greater efforts, in the hope of advancing further cooperation between the two sides in agriculture and cultural tourism.
Samuel Dalisot Cavale thanked Chenzhou for its positive efforts for bilateral cooperation. He said that the bilateral cooperation had a promising future in agriculture and tourism. Malawi hoped to learn advanced technology and precious experience from Chenzhou’s agricultural industry, especially about tobacco planting and agricultural mechanization, to improve its agricultural production modernization and promote better friendship between Malawi and Chenzhou.
During the visit, the Malawian delegation also went to Zixing City, Guiyang County, Suxian District Industry Area and Chenzhou High-tech Zone for the freshwater aquaculture, tobacco planting and processing, agricultural machinery manufacturing. They were full of expectations for further cooperation and exchange.
Alan Chinteza, ambassador of Malawi to China, even spoke for Chenzhou and invited people to visit Chenzhou.
